It is best to use energy saving light bulbs for the living room but some people choose to use milder lighting there and energy saving light bulbs in the hall and in the storage room. Choose the lighting option that really appeals to you. Even though energy saving light bulbs are more expensive they only use 15-20% of the energy of an ordinary bulb. They also last up to ten times longer.If all Icelandic homes were to use energy saving light bulbs, it would save up to a 20 MW electrical power plant.
